Hey guys after a bit of a hiatus I'm back with some Italiano Nazisploitation. Today I and a good friend managed to view an infamous nasty. Luigi Batzella's S.S. Hell Camp also known as The Beast in Heat and Bestia in calore, La. As I missed out on the Video Nasty era in Britain it's time for me to seek out those 'notorious' movies. This review could be very substandard due to the film, I really am speechless.

This film is almost unreviewable some scenes are so atrocious it is unbelievable within the first 5mins we have the 'beast' doing his thing with a very unfortunate lass. Plot wise it basically consists of a female doctor within the S.S. who has created a man who literally 'bonks' women to death. The beast (Salvatore Baccaro who has been in many films because of his 'ape like' figure) is probably the ugliest mug you will ever come see or dread to see. As my friend kept saying "How do you play a character like The Beast" I answered with "Just look at him".

Elsewhere within the town we have the resistance to the 'Germans' (using Germans loosely as most sound British in the dubbed version) who are planning to over throw the vicious Dr. Ellen Kratsch (Macha Magall). In the end the cruel doctor gets a dose of her own medicine *pause for laughter* getting thrown into The Beast's cage it's a fate worse than death.

Some sequences in The Beast in Heat are truly awful yet at the same time hysterically amusing what with The Beast's grunting and insane laughter. While this film is everything it is cracked up to be on the exploitation side it is very slow moving to get to those sides, my friend was pressuring me to use the fast forward every now and then. The beast (I know, I know, I can't shut up about him) actually has very little screen time.

Some of the torture sequences make Eli Roth's Hostel look like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. One part of this movie even grossed out my friend who does have a strong stomach when it comes to gore and sickness. It involved our beloved Beast ripping a females pubic hair off and proceeding to eat it while grinning with a maniacal laugh.

S.S. Hell Camp has so many flaws as a movie for example when people are shot there are no bullet holes in clothing. I can only recount one time where someone is shot in the head and there is a 'hole'.

A great movie to watch with friends this one or a loved one...if they are into that kind of thing. I am recommending this to everyone, you will be appalled and yet finding it hilariously funny at the same time. The sound & print quality was brialliant seems like Shriek Show have put a good version of this nasty out. GO BUY IT!
